American TV Series Recommendations

I decided to do a scheduled post. Today is actually April 16, 2015. I’m so excited to discuss this topic and I don’t want to wait for tomorrow to type this one so I decided to just try the scheduled post. I love this part on WordPress! This is so brilliant! Good job, WordPress! Before moving on to my actual post, I just want to share with you a very creepy thing happened to me today. So my little sister brought me 2 Sunflower Kernels. I left it in my bedroom to go outside to check the mail. Then when I went back, the other one was gone! I asked my family members if they have it and they said no. *cries* Please come back to me, sunflower kernels. I promised not to eat yaaaa. *I’ll try my very damn best*

Moving on, I want to share with you guys my favorite American TV Series! I love all of them! This will be in random order. Enjoy!

1. Game of Throne (GOT)

George R.R. Martin’s best-selling book series “A Song of Ice and Fire” is brought to the screen as HBO sinks its considerable storytelling teeth into the medieval fantasy epic. It’s the depiction of two powerful families — kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars and honest men — playing a deadly game for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, and to sit atop the Iron Throne. Martin is credited as a co-executive producer and one of the writers for the series, which was filmed in Northern Ireland and Malta. (Source: American TV Program)

2. Supernatural

This haunting series follows the thrilling yet terrifying journeys of Sam and Dean Winchester, two brothers who face an increasingly sinister landscape as they hunt monsters. After losing their mother to a supernatural force, the brothers were raised by their father as soldiers who track mysterious and demonic creatures. Violent memories and relationship-threatening secrets add additional burdens on Sam and Dean as they investigate all things that go bump in the night. As old tricks and tools are rendered useless and friends betray them, the brothers must rely on each other as they encounter new enemies. (Source: American TV Program)

3. The Big Bang Theory

Mensa-fied best friends and roommates Leonard and Sheldon, physicists who work at the California Institute of Technology, may be able to tell everybody more than they want to know about quantum physics, but getting through most basic social situations, especially ones involving women, totally baffles them. How lucky, then, that babe-alicious waitress/aspiring actress Penny moves in next door. Frequently seen hanging out with Leonard and Sheldon are friends and fellow Caltech scientists Wolowitz and Koothrappali. Will worlds collide? Does Einstein theorize in the woods? (Source: American TV Program)

4. Prison Break

Michael Scofield is a desperate man in a desperate situation. His brother, Lincoln Burrows, was convicted of a crime he didn’t commit and put on Death Row. Michael holds up a bank to get himself incarcerated alongside his brother in Fox River State Penitentiary, then sets in motion a series of elaborate plans to break Lincoln out and prove his innocence. Once out of jail, their perils aren’t over — the brothers must flee to escape recapture and battle an intricate political conspiracy that puts everyone’s life at risk. (Source: American TV Program)

5. Grimm

When Portland, Ore., homicide detective Nick Burkhardt receives a visit from his sick aunt, he gets an explanation for some strange events in his life. She informs him that he is descended from a long ancestry of “Grimms,” not just chroniclers of fairy tales but hunters charged with protecting humanity from supernatural creatures. Soon Nick discovers that he can see the creatures, “wesen,” who look merely human to most people, and he must bear the responsibility of his ancestors and deal with the mythology of the Brothers Grimm. As Burkhardt tries to cope with the newfound dangers of his life without alarming his fiancee and his partner, he becomes more knowledgeable about the ancient rivalry — with help from a peaceable clockmaker. (Source: American TV Program)

6. Kyle XY

A teenage boy is found wandering, naked and dazed, in traffic. At a nearby youth detention center, authorities discover that this kid — Kyle — is a savant who’s missing instinctive human behavior like joy, anger and love. Stranger still, he’s missing the one thing every mammal has: a belly button. One of the center’s psychologists, Natalie Trager, realizes that Kyle needs special attention — so she brings him home to live with her family. Soon, Kyle starts to investigate his origins … and some people aren’t too happy about it. (Source: American TV Program)

7. The Mentalist

For years Patrick Jane has served as an independent consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation, earning a reputation for unusual methods and disregard for protocol — not to mention his former career as a “psychic” — while using his link with the department to hunt Red John, the serial killer who murdered his wife and daughter. When a scandal causes the dissolution of the CBI team, he goes to Mexico, until tracked down by the FBI and drawn into their fold to help solve crimes once again with his acute powers of observation. With negotiations he secures jobs there for his associates, Theresa Lisbon and Kimball Cho. (Source: American TV Program)

8. Psych

Shawn Spencer happens to possess some uncanny powers of observation thanks to his father, Henry, a former police officer who taught his son to remember even the smallest details of his surroundings. When Shawn is accused of committing a crime that he actually solved, he convinces the cops that he’s a psychic — and with the reluctant help of best friend Gus, Shawn starts solving cases for a skeptical but increasingly impressed police force. (Source: American Comedy Series)

9. White Collar

The third time turns out to be the charm for criminal Neal Caffrey. He has been eluding FBI agent Peter Burke for years, a run that finally comes to an end with his capture. But after the resourceful prisoner escapes from a maximum-security facility, then is nabbed once again by Burke, Caffrey suggests a different end-game: In return for freedom, he’ll help the Feds catch long-sought criminals. Though skeptical, Burke soon realizes that Caffrey’s instincts and insight are a rare commodity. Caffrey’s trusted friend and co-conspirator with ties to the criminal underworld, Mozzie, also becomes a useful source for Burke and the FBI. (Source: American TV Program)

10. Suits

In need of an associate, big-time Manhattan corporate lawyer Harvey Specter hires the only guy who impresses him — college dropout Mike Ross. The fact that Ross isn’t actually a lawyer isn’t lost on Specter, who believes his new right-hand man is a legal prodigy with the book smarts of a Harvard law grad and the street smarts of a hustler. However, in order to keep their jobs, the charade must remain strictly between these two unconventional thinkers. (Source: TV Series)

11. Leverage

Former insurance investigator Nate Ford and his band of cohorts act as modern-day Robin Hoods, pulling elaborate scams targeted against the greedy and the corrupt. Nate was inspired to begin his con business when his former employer refused to pay for treatment that could have saved his son’s life. (Source: American Television Program)

I might add another series next time. There are a lot of TV series I watched but I forgot some of them.

30 Second Speech by Bryan Dyson – Former CEO of Coca-Cola

“Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them – Work, Family, Health, Friends and Spirit and you’re keeping all of these in the Air.

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four Balls – Family, Health, Friends and Spirit – are made of glass. If you drop one of these; they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it.”

Work efficiently during office hours and leave on time. Give the required time to your family, friends and have proper rest.

Value has a value only if its values is valued.

Japanese Products

Hello, everyone! I’m back! Okay, so I wasn’t able to post anything yesterday and the day before because I’d got to run a few errands. I’m so sorry about that! But don’t fret because today, I’m free! Hooray! Oh and by the way, I was able to change my blog’s GMT, finally! I think this is the correct one. It was quite confusing, though. Enough of that! Today, I decided to tackle about Japanese products, specifically, Japanese Food/Snacks! These snacks came all the way from Japan — Chiba Prefecture to be exact. This was a present from one of my friend’s mom who resides in Japan *Arigatou Gozaimasu, Oba-san!* Since this is a very late post, I’ve already eaten some of them so sad to say, they were not included in the photo.

NOTE: These photos are mine. Please ask permission or at least “give credit to where credit is due” before posting it to other sites. Thank you!

By the way, I’m not familiar with Japanese products/snacks so I named some of these wrong, please correct me! Thank you!

1. Ebi-Obanyaki – This is like a shrimp chip or cracker. Unfortunately, I didn’t like it. It has a weird taste, well at least for me. And add to that, a “fishy” flavor (well, it’s shrimp, what do you expect, you idiot?) that I really, really abhor when it comes to food.

Processed with VSCOcam with a6 presetRating: ★☆☆☆☆

2. I don’t know the name – (I can only read OSHIYABU__) *not sure with the “bu” part* This one tastes like a dried seaweed or something. I’m not really sure! It’s very weird.

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆

3. I don’t know the name – (I can only read _WAKAME_SHISO_) I don’t know how to describe the taste. It’s sour, though. I’m not sure if this is the sukonbu because I ordered one since I was very curious how it tastes like (yeah, I’m a Gintama die hard fan and I love Kagura-chan so much!).

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆

4. Dorayaki – I think of all the snacks oba-san gave me, this is the one that I really like the most. Fine, fine. Scratch that. Let’s be honest, this is the only one that I like. This one tastes like a pancake with bean paste fillings. I actually got 2 different fillings but unfortunately, I already ate the other one (which I couldn’t remember the flavor).

Rating: ★★★★★

5. Senbei (Japanese Rice Crackers) – I’m not so sure if both of them are called Senbei. Anyway, it’s too salty for my taste. It reminds me of Chinese crackers, although I prefer the Chinese version.

That’s it. So, which post do you like the most? Have you ever tried one of these snacks? Did you like it? What is your favorite Japanese snack? Do you have any recommendation for me? Please hit the comment section if you do! Thank you! Itadakimasu!

Shoujo Manga Recommendations

Like I said, starting today, I’ll be an active blogger again. So for my first post for the year 2015, I decided to do some Shoujo Manga Recommendations. Honestly, I’m more of a shounen manga fan as compared to shoujo manga. It’s quite ironic though because the last time I checked, I’m a girl. It’s just that, sometimes, shoujo manga focuses more on the romantic aspect and there are too much drama and I HATE DRAMA. So, without further ado, here is the list of my favorite shoujo manga:

1. Skip Beat!

Status: Ongoing
Plot: The story revolves around a young girl named Kyouko who went with her childhood friend, Shou, to Tokyo to pursue his dream of becoming an idol. Despite her supporting him, she overhears him dismissing her as a boring wallflower. Furious, Kyouko vows to get her revenge by defeating him in the entertainment world. (Source: MyAnimeList)

2. Special A (SA)

Status: Completed
Plot: Hikari Hanazono has always been second to Kei Takishima. When they were six years old, their pro-wrestling loving fathers introduced them to each other. Assuming that she was the best in wrestling, young Hikari challenged Kei to a wrestling match only to be thoroughly defeated by him.

Ever since that fateful incident, Hikari swore to beat Kei in school grades, sporting events – anything. To do this, she has enrolled in the same school as Kei since elementary. Now she attends Hakusenkan, an ultra elite school, that costs her carpenter father a lot of money.

Hikari and Kei are the top two students in the school, with Kei holding firmly to that number one position. While Hikari considers Kei to be a rival and important friend, she is completely unaware that Kei loves her. The story primarily focuses on Hikari and her constant attempts to defeat her one and only rival, Kei, and how she finds love in their rivalry. (Source: MyAnimeList)

3. Itazura na Kiss

Status: Completed
Plot: Ever since she entered high school, Kotoko Aihara wanted to be in the same class as Naoki Irie. The only problem is that Irie is the smartest student in school contrast to Kotoko being one of the dumbest. Now in her 3rd year of high school, she still isn’t there. However, one day her home gets destroyed and the only place left to go to was Irie’s home. Now that she lives close to him, will their relationship be the same, or will it become greater than it is? (Source: MyAnimeList)

4. Daa! Daa! Daa! (UFO Baby)

Status: Completed
Plot: Miyu is an 8th grade girl, whose parents have been hired by NASA. They take off to America leaving Miyu with Mr. Saionji. Later, Mr. Saionji decides to go on a 1 year long trip to India leaving Miyu alone with his son, Kanata. More complications rise when an Alien baby and his babysitter pet crashes/lands in their house. To make things worse, alien baby starts calling Miyu and Kanata Mom and Dad, also showing ESP power and floating around. (Source: ANN)

5. Super Gals

Status: Completed
Plot: Sporting designer clothes, make-up, and nails, Ran Kotobuki is the very picture of a trendy, young Shibuya girl, but don’t let that fool you. This girl comes from a family of cops, and she’s ready to lay you out flat if you even think about causing trouble in her town! At least, she will… when she’s not distracted with karaoke, shopping, and dodging her homework. Join Ran and her friends as they defend the streets of Shibuya and attempt to shop their way into the history books as the most famous Gals ever! (Source: RightStuf)

6. Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge

Status: Ongoing
Plot: Takano Kyohei, Oda Takenaga, Toyama Yukinojo, and Morii Ranmaru are going to rent a house to go to school for free on the condition that they make the girl of the house a “lady”. However, Nakahara Sunako, the girl living there, is gloomy, weird, and horror movie maniac. She has a trauma of when she was told she was ugly by the boy whom she loved when she was in junior high school. She doesn’t like beautiful things and gets a nosebleed when she looks at something beautiful. (Source: AnimeNfo)

7. Wagamama Fairy Mirumo de Pon!

Status: Ongoing
Plot: Kaede is a cheerful and energetic eighth grader. When it comes to boys, however, she is hopelessly shy.

One day, on her way home from school, Kaede walks into a mysterious shop and buys a colorful cocoa mug. When she reaches home, she casually peeks into the bottom of the mug and discovers an engraved note, which says, “If you read this message aloud while pouring hot cocoa into the mug, a love fairy (“muglox”) will appear and grant your every wish.” The skeptical but curious Kaede follows the directions and announces her wish to date Yuuki, the class heartthrob. Suddenly, the adorable blue Mirumo appears! We soon find out, however, that this cute little muglox would rather eat chocolate and create mischief than help Kaede.

Mirumo, it seems, is prince of the muglox world. Horrified at the prospect of having to marry Rirumu, his princess bride-to-be, Mirumo has escaped the muglox world. Hot on his heels, however, are Rirumu, Yashichi the bounty hunter, and a cast of hundreds of muglox ranging from the good to the bad to the nutty. This gang of adorable troublemakers will see to it that school life for Kaede and her friends is never the same… (Source: mirmo-zibang)

8. Kimi Ni Todoke

Status: Ongoing
Plot: Kuronuma Sawako is completely misunderstood by her classmates. Her timid and sweet demeanor is often mistaken for malicious behavior. This is due to her resemblance to the ghost girl from “The Ring,” which has led her peers to give her the nickname Sadako. Longing to make friends and live a normal life, she is naturally drawn to Kazehaya Shouta, the most popular guy in class, whose “100% refreshing” personality earns him great admiration from Sawako. So when Kazehaya starts talking to her, maybe there is hope for the friendships Sawako has always longed for. Maybe… there is even a little hope for some romance in her future. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

NOTE: I’ll be updating this every now and then. But for now, let’s leave it like this.
